William Goulding

William J. Goulding passed away June 14, 2022. Bill was the oldest of 7 boys, to Brandt and Deon. Bill grew up in Salt Lake City He was born November 12, 1950, in Salt Lake and graduated from South High School. At the age of 18, Bill and his best friend Roy tried to lose weight to avoid being drafted, that didn’t work in his favor, so he enlisted in the Army completed basic training and was off to Vietnam from 1969-1972 and finished his time in the National Guard to fulfill his obligation. He married Toni Pearce April 1, 1972, later divorced had two children Brandon (Angel) and Cori (Ryan). Bill worked as a Salesman at Industrial Supply for 19 years, was a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers. This is where he met many friends that became longtime family friends whom he enjoyed camping and 4-wheeling with. He was appointed being President of their 4-wheel drive club “The Rut Riders”. He then worked in sales at Fairmont Supply Company for 19 years, ultimately taking retirement and enjoying living life like he was 18 again. He brought several things back into his life that made him happy. Bill had an extremely friendly personality and was definitely a people person. Bill was known and teased for being professional “piddler”, he could not pass up picking a piece of lint up off the carpet. He was meticulous and immaculate with everything he did and owned. He took great pride in all he worked for. Bill was a great handyman and stayed busy doing projects and helping others finish theirs and should have won the Most Patient Dad of the Year award every year. There were 3 things he repeated frequently which was “I love 3 things my Family, Classic Cars, and Rock N Roll”. This was the truth, he loved to play drums in his younger years and still again rocking the drums at 72. He recently bought a new guitar and was taking lessons. He enjoyed watching his live concert DVDs, going to car shows, shooting at the range, playing pool, going golfing, taking drives using caution to not mess up his “hair-do” as he says. He loved spending time in the garage shining his bitchin’ Camero, and polishing his golf clubs, while listening to his Rock N Roll. He recently ordered a sign that reads: “My neighbors are listening to good music whether they like it or not”. Bill loved his pets over the years, and his recent lil buddy guinea pig. That pig would get to watch him clean his car, and hang out in the garage, watch him play pool, and visit his guests. We would like to send a special thanks to those who remained close friends and family to our Dad that were there for him, especially Lane and Linda, and his cousins Shawna, George and Craig. Bill is survived by son Brandon (Angel) granddaughters Alacia, Abriel, Amora, Ayvah-Grace, daughter Cori (Ryan) Nigh granddaughters Jessica, Aubrey, 2 brothers: Mike and Greg.
