Regina Anneliese Wood, 72, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2023, surrounded by her loving family at home in Payson, Utah.

She was born August 25, 1950, to Werner Clemens Schirmer and Anneliese Helene Wermann in Zwickau, Germany. On June 21, 1956, Regina and her parents emigrated from Germany to Salt Lake City, Utah. A new life and adventure in the United States had begun.

Regina graduated from South High School in 1969. She married the love of her life, Robert Newell Wood Jr. on March 11, 1974, and they were married for 42 years. They had two wonderful sons, Jeffery and Kevin.

Regina and Bob lived their lives in Elberta, Utah for 27 years then moved to Payson where she most recently lived.

Regina loved America and was part of the American dream. So much, she became a United States citizen on May 31, 2001.

She made her living as a cook at Mountain View Hospital in Payson, Utah and Utah State Hospital in Provo, Utah.

Regina loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, and four wheeling. Her hobbies included needlepoint and crocheting. She crocheted blankets for premie babies in NICU as well as hats and slippers for everyone in the family.

Regina is survived by her two sons, Jeffery (Rebecca) and Kevin (Jann); brother, Steven (Brandi) Schirmer; seven grandsons, one granddaughter, and ten great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews which she loved dearly.

She is preceded in death by her husband Robert, grandson Andrew, her father Werner, her mother Anneliese, and aunts and uncles from Germany.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at Payson City Cemetery, 400 North 800 East, Payson, Utah. Visitation will be prior from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Utah.
