School Story:
In 1966, I came to America few days before school started to South High School with a hope to learn English, survive the 3 years, work and buy a car and go back to Finland. But life takes turns often differently than one plans. After High School. I worked at Utah Power and Light company starting as a custodian and later worked in the Gadsby Steam plant on North Temple as an auxiliary operator, again while going to university. Some years later, I made a change and pursued Health Insurance field introducing and helping companies to set up partially Self-funded medical plans. One day, while in my small office, a brother of my university roommate came to my office and asked if I wanted to become wealthy. That started my professional career as I jumped at that opportunity and became a publisher of Olympic Commemorative photojournalistic books supplemented with other similar books on World Cup, Ice Hockey, World Ski Championship events and Track and Field to name few. I worked as a licensee for United States Olympic Committee as well as Finnish Olympic Community, Various Sporting federations and organizing committees. It landed me an opportunity travel, experience sporting events and meet corporate sponsors as well Fortune 500 companies as I did my best to sell the commemoratives as a gift idea with the corporate personalizing for each client. Oh, I failed to ask my roommate's brother what he meant by becoming wealthy. It certainly was not tons of money but huge amounts of experiences. For which I am thankful as it also helped me influence my growing family to pursue excellence.
